Bardstown, Ky...Chad Campbell, of Andrews, Texas, fired a final round
70 and won the Hooters Classic by three strokes over Mark Wilson.
Campbell, who also started the day with a three stroke lead, pulled away
on the back nine with three birdies on holes 12, 13 and 14. "I held the
lead for the whole day," smiled Campbell, who won previously this year in
Ocala, Florida. "After I made a bogey on the 10th hole I was only up by
one (stroke), so then I made three quick birdies to increase my advantage.
It was nice to have a three or four shot lead coming in." Campbell
finished the tournament at 22-under par, Wilson was at 18-under par.
Zoran Zorkic,of Kingwood, Texas, and John Kimbell, of Summerville, Ga.,
were five shots back at 16-under par. After a week off the NGA Hooters
Tour moves to Sikeston, Missouri for the Delta Pontiac Performers Classic
at Boot Heel Golf Club.
