Daytona Beach, Fla...Jason Caron made a par on the third playoff hole
to win the $100,000 Budweiser Classic at Indigo Lakes Golf Club in
Daytona Beach, Florida. Jason Caron and Greg Parker were both tied
at 16-under par for the tournament. "It was a pretty boring playoff,"
said Caron, who won his third tournament of the year. "I hit a pretty
good bunker shot to within 8 feet of the hole and just made my par putt,
it slipped in the left corner." Parker missed his 5-foot putt for par to
finish in 2nd place. At one point Michael Connell had a 4 shot lead on
the front nine after Jason Caron made a double-bogey on the 6th hole,
but Connell turned around and made a double-bogey himself on the 9th
and 16th holes to finish alone in 5th place. Like last week and last year
Parker came from two shots back to force the playoff. He fired a closing
round 3-under par 69 with a bogey-free round and three birdies. Paul
Dickinson and John Connelly finished tied for 3rd place at 15-under par.
The NGA Hooters Tour is off next week before moving to Evansville,
Indiana for the Civitas Bank Golf Classic at Quail Crossing Golf Club.
