Fayetteville, Ga...Eric Meichtry drained a 4 foot birdie putt on 18 to
edge Justin Bolli by one stroke to win the NGA/Hooters Tour Championship
at WhiteWater C.C. in Fayetteville, Ga.
Meichtry, 30, of Concord, Ca. finished the final round with a 1 under
71, 7 under for the tournament. "I play this golf course well. I played
well here in 1998. I'm comfortable here." said Meichtry. "I never really
had a negative thought. I just wanted to stick to my game plan and it
paid off."
Bolli birdied 18 to draw even, but Meichtry answered with a bird of his
own. "At least I wanted Eric make a birdie to beat me. He came through."
said Bolli. Meichtry's $50,000 1st prize was his biggest check of the
year.
