Southaven, MS.....Scott Hebert, Gladstone, MI, wins the 2000 Gold
Strike Casino Classic in Southaven, Mississippi. Hebert was able
to two putt from 40 feet on the final hole for birdie and win by
one stroke over Eric Epperson of Plano, TX. Epperson, playing in
the group ahead of Hebert, posted a 64 and a four round total of 263.
"I was extremely nervous out their on that last hole", commented
Hebert. Hebert had his finance on the bag caddying for him all
week. This is Scott's first tour victory on the NGA Hooters Tour.
He picked up a first place winner's check of $20,000.00 for his efforts.
Hebert's round consisted of 6 birdies and one bogey with a final
nine of 32, 4 under par. Epperson commented, " I knew if I was to
win, I would have to go low today to do that." He almost was able
to pull that off.
The NGA Hooters Tour moves to Lewisburg, TN next week. The Hooters
Middle Tennessee Classic will be held at the Saddle Creek Golf Club
in Lewisburg.
