San Antonio, TX.....Hebert takes second NGA Tour event of the year in
fine fashion. Scott Hebert of Gladstone, Michigan fired a final round
67 to finish at 14 under par and take home the $20,000 winner check.
The win moves Hebert into second on the Tour Official Earnings list.
"I tried to stay calm out there all day and play my own game" said
Hebert. "I was hitting alot of fairways and giving myself birdie
putts" commented Hebert. Kevin Muncrief was the only player in the
field to give Hebert a scare and he finished 3 shots back in second.
The second place finish for Muncrief was his best ever on the NGA Tour.
Hebert made 7 birdies on the day coupled with a pair of bogeys to fire
the 5 under round on the par 72 Olympia Hills layout. Mike Flynn of
Fort Worth, Texas began the day tied with Hebert and struggled home
with a 74 to finish tied for fifth.
The top ten was loaded with Lone Star state boys but none were able
to finish higher than a tie for third and that was Austin's Wes Short.
The NGA Tour now takes two weeks off before resuming play in
Hawkinsville, Georgia at the Southern Hills Golf Club. The Michelob
Light Classic will take place from Thursday, September 21st through
Sunday, September 24th.
